I am now a CPP certified professional photographer
I am now a CPP! But you say “What is a CPP?”
What is CPP? CPP stands for Certified Professional Photographer. I bet you didn’t know professional photographers can be certified? Everybody has heard of CPA but CPP is not so well known.
When I started my studio, I joined the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) to keep up with the latest industry news and knowledge. I took classes to increase my technical skills. Eventually I took up the challenge of getting certified. This month I became a CPP, the only one in Santa Cruz, and one of only 93 CPP’s in California.
To get the CPP designation I passed a comprehensive written exam to demonstrate my technical knowledge of photography and submitted a portfolio of my work to be reviewed and approved by a panel of tough judges. So, it is a pretty big deal, and I am very happy and proud to be able to put the letters CPP after my name!
What does it mean to you? It means I am not the only one calling myself a professional photographer. You can be assured that my technical and artistic standards are also confirmed and certified by the industry I belong to.
